Location: Carle Place, NY | This weekend I tried some Zymol car wax on the top of my old and tired looking 1619 CL. WOW, the stuff worked great and even made some of the superficial scratches disappear. I just rubbed it in real good and buffed it with an old t-shirt. |

Location: SoCal | not sure about this...was describing some glue that someone had spilled on a CL top to Kim, describing that it looked like excess paste wax - he immediately interjected thinking I was talking about using paste wax.
wonder how these waxes would affect the resonance of the tops?? might be better to stay with Dunlop 65?? |

The Meguiar's products I use are cleaners, swirl removers, and polishes; not waxes. I frequently get guitars with dull finish haze, etc., that the Dunlop doesn't remedy. I think these products are rather commonly used.
Fender now sells a line of products by Meguiar's. It is a lot cheaper to buy them at a discount auto parts place. |

Location: Minden, Nebraska | Back to the original post: so, the guitar looks great and has a banana smell. Does it sound any different? The concern expressed is that wax might deaden the tone. |

Location: Carle Place, NY | I haven't noticed any difference in the sound. I was jammin' last night with a friend who is a professional guitarist and he was amazed at the acoustic tone. Zymol is not a carnuba wax based product. It really does work to take out the haze and swirl marks. |
