Location: SoCal | The PD12 I got from David E. comes in tomorrow. David said it was a 1980. Spent reasonable time checking out archives...Paul M. in 2002 asked a number of questions so that saves me some time. Also, a listing on O's site under discontinued.
Does anyone have any printed material/brochure on the guitar that has been scanned? If so, would appreciate a copy. Or, if you have the brochure for sale, let me know.
Also, as it doesn't have a case, any idea of the case (Ovation or generic)?
Thanks |

Location: Nova Scotia, Canada | Tony, I have the brochure and I could scan it for you in the next day or so. The Preacher/Viper case will fit...one size for six or twelve strings.

When you get the material from Wayne, let me know what you have. I might have something he doesn't (don't know that for certain). I'd be happy to share anything different with both of you. |

Location: SoCal | Got it in this afternoon, David should be complimented on his disclosure...it is in far better shape than I thought - in fact great condition.
Looking forward to spending some time with it this evening, soon as I get some more work done. |

D'Adario EXL150's Nickel
10-10-13-13-17-08-26-12-36-18-46-26
Adamas 1616 Phosphor Bronze
10-10-14-14-23-10-30-14-38-18-47-27
Other than the Nickel v. Phosphor Bronze - will the sound be degraded by using the 1616 a/e strings? Only ask as I have several sets on the shelf... |

Location: Scotland | using acoustic strings on an electric guitar is not a great idea. Due to the low ferric content of the bronze wrap wire the magnetic pickups see mostly the plain steel core wires. |

Location: SoCal | Use strings made for that application. You don't change strings on an electric that often so use the right ones.
Which saddle/bridge do you have on the guitar? The older fixed one of the newer (relatively speaking) one with adjustable saddles? The earlier one is a pain to thread strings thru, but you do get a place to rest your hand when you pic (if you've got bad habits like me).
Post a pic of your guitar. |

I sent you a color copy of the Preacher DeLuxe two-page brochure - perhaps you could scan it and post it in the gallery for the rest of the fam' |
