This was a test and only a test.

Had it been an actual posting it would have been responded to with wit, knowledge and a casual friendliness commonly expressed on the Ovation Fan club board.

Example:

Jon,
What is a Purple Heart Special anyway?

". . must be the John Kerry Signature model . ."

As opposed to the G'Dubyah Bush Model that comes with whatever model number you want to "make up" to suit your agenda, and DOES come with Service Information . . . . . 'cept, . . . . it's been "lost" . . .

sorry, I'll shutup.

FWIW, I saw a news post this weekend that all of a sudden his military records have been listed as 'destroyed.' Lost would imply they still exist, but nobody knows where they are. I guess now someone knows where they are, but they don't exist.

If that's possible.

(OK, I'll shutup now, too)

;)

Same as his Texas driving record.

That's all I have to say about that

Destroyed? - very possible, from personal experience trying to help some of my Marines document their reserve participation. Specifically, one prior service Nat'l Guard who had enlisted in the Marines had to use his personal tax records to prove he had traveled to the area of the base...Nat'l Guard could find no rosters, billeting, etc., that he was there for almost a year. Fortunately, the powers to be gave him credit for service.

A major distinction from "politicos" refusing to release or manipulating the system to seal their records...I can think of one candidate and one prior candidate in this race that come to mind.

Back to guitars...loved the comment by one newscaster on infamous CNN who, when seeing a clip of Kerry playing at last week's smutfest, who described it as "awkward." Guess he uncomfortable unless he's playing nylons.

I think Bush's driving record did come out and he admitted to do the alcoholic version of "inhaling". That's something to be proud of.

One of my best friends is an alcoholic who's been sober for 7 years. That shows character, not lack there of.

Unlike some Phoenix based performers who won't admit that they have a problem. Who play Ovations (except in prison -- I guess he didn't want to give Ovation a bad name).

Bet you guys wondered how I was going to get this post back to guitars and Ovations!

I'll admit I have no idea what you're referring to, but using my PAF method of scanning posts, here are the keywords that jumped out at me:

Kerry
Smutfest
Uncomfortable unless he's playing nylons

For the record, I don't have a horse in the current election race. I have arrived at the conclusion that there is a single political party in the US, which has two different marketing arms, and neither offers to sell me what I want (less gov.'t, fewer taxes, fewer laws). Personally, I see no difference between any of the candidates since, say, Carter, although I may except Reagan from that broadbrushing. :)

Now, the guitar thing...laid ~250 sq.ft. of oak flooring this weekend. My hands (and just about everything else) hurt so badly that it is painful to type, let alone play the guitar. I'm depressed (but the floor sho' look nice!).

Crust;
Congrats on the new floor!
I did a little over 400sf of solid Honduran Mahogany in my last house (now the ex's . . . are ya' sensing a friggin' PATTERN here???!! :-)
It IS hard on the hands (knees & back as well), but it is OH so nice when it's done. The best thing to do (once you can flex your fingers again) is to just take your shoes off and sit on it cross-legged with a glass of wine and your guitar and play for an hour or two.
(just make sure that there's someone else there to help you straighten back UP again! :-)
Enjoy!

Kerry plays a classical guitar, he is seen at his fundraiser playing a Gibson dual p/u dual cutaway (maybe a 335). Ms. Goldberg and others used vicious and very obscene language in making direct attacks against the President and others, to include comparing to female anatomy. Although his campaign has released the clips they want shown, they are refusing to release the video of the fundraiser. Kerry espouses values yet was all smiles.

Yes, I heard details from other than the news media, by several in attendance. Other than that, we should move on to other threads.

the concrete guy is the only one that is eh...concrete. He told me that in 2 weeks (read when he is not busy) he will have the guys come and dig the foundation and then the pad will get poured. I decided also to tear down my old shed and take out its crappy foundation and have a new one poured at the same time. I also took out a small retaining wall and if all the stars are aligned I will get a dumpster this week and rent a jack hamer and take out about 40 ft of concrete walkway and a small step.

the framers well... I had 3 or so lined up and they all went belly up on me. I also got an e mail from the electrician who told me he is too busy to work for me now as well.

once the pad is poured I will be out there trying to figure out how to get it framed even if it is by myself.

I hate contractors and I can say that because my dad was one.

So Kerry plays a nylon string, figures. Probably can't figure out which knee to put it on and constantly switches his position back and forth. Maybe that's where he got it from........
