Location: St. Petersburg, FL USA | First - and I have no idea how I stumbled across this one - the Golf Channel has a show called Mic'd for Play (which I didn't know until tonight). I was surfing past and noticed guitars & stuff. Well it was Hootie & The Blowfish about to bust loose with "only Want to Be with You." And there it was, the Ovation mandolin. Couldn't get the serial #, even with the dvr. It was outnumbered by all the Gibsons, but holding its own...
Second - and I'm not 100% sure of this one because the screen shot only lasts a split-second, but knowing that W2 is a fellow Floridian I'm seeing the connection now - the bottled water company Zephyrhills (the name itself is an oxymoron because there are absolutely NO zephyrs or hills there...) has a new TV marketing campaign, and one brief shot of some young lady with what I think is an 80's vintage Balladeer or something. Possibly Folklore or classical, I couldn't tell... It's kind of a tight shot, and I think the rosette is what makes me think Ovation. | |

Location: Waurika OK | A few months ago, I saw an interview with one of the Williams sisters (tennis players)Serena, I think. At some point the interviwer said, I understand you play guitar. So she pulls out a guitar and suprise, suprise, it was an ovation. Looked a lot like my 1617 Legend.
