It occurs to me that I post a fair amount here, and tend to just kind of have fun. I hope that I occasionally contribute something of value back to the community, well, other than my rapier like wit and dashing good looks, but perhaps that's wishful thinking. :)

I've owned a guitar of some sort for the last fifteen or so years, but I've never really played one until I got the Elite and started taking formal lessons. Then came more guitars until I wound up with Project Viper. I have found that the Elite spends more time in my hands than any other guitar. And it's not because I don't have better things to do. It is just a wonderful guitar. To paraphrase Jack, 'It makes me want to be a better player.' :D On the electric side, even though Project Viper isn't quite up to snuff (I think I'm going to get a professional setup done on it...the mom/pop shop owes me two anyway...well, not that they're professional), I find that it's replaced the Stratocopy and even the Cropper for most duties (read: practicing on something other than the Elite). This thing just sings...even unplugged it has more sustain/volume than either of the others. Amazing...and annoying according to my wife.

I know that there are Ovation/Kaman people who read this board and I just want to tell you thanks, good job and offer you a pat on the back. I think you deserve much more than that, but well, I can't put money in my screen. So, thanks, again, for making the effort to put out instruments of such high quality that even 15 and 30 years later, they still kick ass.

And thanks to Miles and Alpep for letting me run roughshod all over their board. :p

I think you understand "it"

The good guitars have "it".
If you understand "it", you know.
If you don't, you never will.

I think you're right W2, about good guitars having 'it' and players/buyers either knowing 'it' or not. But, the good guitars don't just miraculously show up with 'it' at the end of the day. Well, ok, maybe a couple dozen Gibbys and Fenders every year manage to do so, out of sheer luck (hey, statistics being what they are...).

'It' is obvious to me that there has to be people in New England (and Florida ) that care an awful lot about what they're doing, as well as they're doing it, for as long as they have been doing it. And dammit, I appreciate it! I appreciate it so much that I want to say thanks. Again. So. Thanks. Again.

:D

My wife says the same thing about my playing. Every time I play she says, "That sounds like 'it'".

For some reason, she doesn't want other to know about 'it', so she always says "shhhhhh" just before saying 'it'.
