hmmmm . . . .

Is that Luthierie or Taxidermie??

Reminds of a piece that I saw in the Metropolitan Museum of Art's intrument collection:

It was an African stringed instrument, but the resonator was a human skull that had the very top sawed off and a piece of skin stretched over it . . .

Those are great! I used to have one, it's still in my old office at KMC. Back when I left in '98 my hands and arms were full and I had to leave it behind.

a woman here has one that is a 6 string. not too acoustic, which in her case is good. helps her pick up guys more than anything. roadkill rhonda really needs very little help in that department.

the one in the picture is strung like a vanduria. 5 pairs of strings. there are lots of weird instruments in mexican folklorico. nothing goes to waste. eat the poor devil and then play two chord songs that all sound the same with what's left over. better than getting hit by a bus i guess.
