Does anyone know what size fret wire Ovations have on the Custom Legends? Do they use different sizes on different guitar models?

Used to be the SS models had larger frets and the deeps had regular acoustic wire. Maybe somebody can answer this for what they're doing now. I would guess it's all the same.

This may be of no help but here goes. I bought a 2000 CL which I am returning cause it's too bright.

BUT...I noticed the frets weren't as tall as my 2001 s771 Balladeer. I don't know if it had a fret dressing/leveling done or whether it is standard to have pretty low frets on the CL.

One thing for sure, it played real sweet with the lowest action I have ever played on an O.

Bad thing? If they are built that low it could be too low for someone(like me) who presses real hard and wears grooves real fast in the guitar.

CL's are the most gorgeous guitars ever built though.

I am just curious for what are used on the Al DiMeola 1760-ADII which is a deep bowl CL with a few "extras" from what I understand.
Thanks,

OK get out your calipers.

The frets on my 2001 CL model 1869 measure .095" wide by .050" crown. That is right on the border between a medium and a jumbo per the StewMac catalog.

For comparison, my model 1657 measures .080" wide by .045" crown.
