Location: NJ | Just a quick note, I was up at the factory for the Hamer festivities this past weekend and had about 3 minutes to touch base with Rick Hall.
The OFC guitar is a definite go. I will be contacting Rick soon to go over some details. It will be unique to the OFC. Rick mentioned a few ideas and plans that they had unfortunately I am once again sworn to secrecy. |

Have you gotten that Hamer with the curley top and back yet? I saw it last time I was there. It's a good thing that the neck was 1 11/16. |

that guitar is still in the paint booth. I e mailed some pics to the customer and he is IN LOVE!!! that is one beautiful guitar.
As for the Ofc guitar. Please realize that I am often given information in confidence, When I am able to give out information I do it, otherwise I have to respect the wishes of Rick or Frank U or whomever. |

Put me on the list as a definite for one of these babies! Thanks! Also, just traded my Celebrity C026 for a Fender amp! Wouldn't think of trading or selling the good old USA made stuff! Play On!

Location: Atlanta,Ga. | Al, have the OFC guitars with their own serial number(1-100),then offer each OFC member the serial number that matches their member number. This would only work for the first 50-100 members but it would be cool to have an OFC guitar that matches your member number..If a member does not want the guitar then offer that serial number to another member who does.. |

Al, for budgeting purposes ... can you estimate order date (and I assume 50% up front?) and delivery date.
And is this going to be the "not cheap" option?
No matter, sign me up. |

Generally, I have only lusted after older models, keep us informed as it develops, I'd pay extra to have my member number on the fret board or headstock, or even the adjustment cover if that's all I could get.
I would prefer it inlaid about where GC used to have his signiture.

I know you can't spill the beans yet but surely you can give us something !
1. Any idea when it will be made avaliable ?
2. Round hole or multi ?
3. Wood or graphite top ?
It's certainly an exciting prospect. |

Does the OFC guitar and the 30th Adamas have anything in common? I'd love for it to be one and the same guitar... With OFC markings...
I can't afford two "05" guitars.
I'm hooked.

Location: Columbus, OH | I was there with Al. Rich gave me all the details and didn't swear me to secrecy.
The guitar will be a USA made Ovation. No doubt about it.
They won't be using Takamine's cool tube technology (I actually asked), but Rich said they came up with something new that takes out the piezo quack even better. The papers to protect the intellectual property is in the works, so he couldn't comment on it any more without killing me.
I love those red flame Elites. The ones painted front and back.
Too bad Frank U couldn't be there, not only for the reason he couldn't be there, but I was hoping to tease him a little about telling me last year that he hated the carved walnut bridges and they were moving forward, not backward, and that they wouldn't use them again. Then comes the 30th Anniversary..... ;-) I wanted to say "I told you so!" When I brought it up last year, I think his exact words were "no fucking way." ;-) |

Location: Rego Park, NY, | I thinks one reason that Al won't tell us anymore details on the guitar is that his face will be airbrushed on the top. Therefore there will be a new multihole design so that the holes will be where his eyes, nose, mouth etc. are going to be placed. I wont attempt to guess where the hole for the jack and XLR are going to be.

Geez Al... I was just trying to be good and not spill the beans!
The rest of what I wrote was 100% true and accurate. I thought news of a new preamp system with advances in getting rid of the piezo quack would be newsworthy.

Any idea what will become of the non-LX USA models (e.g. regular Balladeer, Balladeer Special, Elite Special)? Will they be phased out and replaced by the LX line? |

Bowl sizes will vary but not be impossible to produce. |

Oh, great...I was told lefties wouldn't be along for possibly another year, so I ordered an "old-style" lefty Legend... which means I'll soon be gassing for another one (probably an Elite this time, if I know my GAS pains...)! |

Think Slotheaded Adamas I proto with an OP Pro, lighter bowl, single epaulet, 12th fret, deep cutaway and some carved trim. That's my take.
We'll see! |

Location: Las Cruces, NM | I'll buy that as long as it has a built in 457 Magnum custom straplock and a Winchester '73 neck assembly. I also would really like a bayonet attachment on the bottom strap, only problem I can see is I don't think it could be a "carry on" at most airports.
It should also have a warning label, "PLEASE DON'T VIOLATE MY AIRSPACE"
I don't think Pete Seeger would buy one of these.

For me it's gotta be an original old style slothead Adamas with Op Pro preamp.
Lets face it, we'd all like one, it's the holy grail of Ovation guitars. |

Location: New Mexico | In an effort to increase OFC awareness and interest in this guitar would it be possible for Al to consider raffling the first one made. (I'm sure discussions with his contacts at Ovation would have to be done etc...) Every member would have an opportunity to buy a ticket first, then with any tickets that remain, members would be allowed to buy additional tickets till all were sold. Hopefully, with any additional tickets they would be sold individually and not the remaining to one person, but that is for the great minds to decide. The winner of the raffle would be guaranteed the #1 produced. Seems to me it would increase overall interest for this guitar and as most members are not in a position to buy prototypes or high end guitars they would find themself with a chance to get a #1 produced. Could do this with the 1st and last produced.. Lost of options.
Just a thought.. :D |

Is that a pump 10 guage shotgun protruding out of it? Can you imagine the fun of playing in a crowded dive and ending "Stagger Lee" or "Don't Mess Around With Jim" with about five or six, 10 gauge blanks (loaded with black powder and rubber ball wadding), gently fired between drum rolls in time with the music and accompanied by shouted Ole's in 5 part harmony. That would put Johnny Paycheck in his place as second best at emptying a crowded bar.
Definately an OFC collectible, especially after it gets a few bullet holes from the SWAT team, (probably should also have a 3/4 in steel plate on the back)!
