Maaybe some of you saw the 1993 Collector's Series on ebay from carrguitars -
Starting price was $425. I held back because of the two repaired cracks inthe top. Emailed him and he said it looked as of they'd been in the wood, not just the finish. Looks like someone used superglue. But I had the feeling that cracks in the wood don't unusally meander around like that, but tend to split along grain lines - that is, in straight lines - so maybe these were finish cracks someone tried to fill.
Here's the auction:
1993 Collector's series on ebay - cracked top - auction ended with zero bids
I'd be grateful if someone might take a look at the pictures while they're still there - would this top have stopped you as it stopped me - or should I have gone for it (or might still if he relists it?)
Meantime, I'm going to repair the top on my old 1111-1 - I just won't be offering it up on ebay when I'm done!
Thanks and best wishes -
Michael
