Location: Massachusetts | It's interesting to note that many people here seem to like blue. The OFC guitar may be blue and at least 2 other people have had custom orders made in blue.
Ray Davies of the Kinks has a blueburst Legend from the early/mid 90's that is gorgeous. Looks blueburst under most stage lights but pop a red spot and it looks like greenburst.
I have been toying getting a blueburst custom order and knowing my luck I'd pay the upcharge and it would be a standard color in 05.
I talked to John at the factory once and he said that Ray's might have been a custom color because he doesn't recall a legend being made in blueburst.
It looks awsome though. |

Location: NC | How bout a bronze colored "O"? Just asking....LOL! Adamas with a bronze woven carbon top with a ebony fingerboard with MOP fingerboard inlays of spades or clover, then use either pearloid or fine polished ebony tuner buttons with epaulets with tortoise shell inlay around the muti-holes that standout slightly from the carbon top. I need a drink! :D |

I don't want to hijack this post, but after looking at your stable of O's, I have a question: how much difference tonally is there between your two LX's? Any structural differences that would account for any significant differences in tone (if there are any)?
Thanks. |

I think I saw in Daddy's catalog a Korean blue one with a blue headstock...not a burst but essentially what I'd like in a custom guitar.
Gotta be US made. The Blue CVT looks good at the website and had the CVT I saw be blown out at GC been blue I would have bought it in 2 seconds. |

It is my IMHO that the both the Balladeer LX and Legend LX no matter what color are both fantastic guitars both tonally, playing and for handling. However, the Legend LX seems (even though both are medium bowl guitars) has a slightly sweeter sound and is easier on the fingers. But it is just my opinion. The Balladeer LX does sound better than the shallow bowled Std. Balladeer of which I have a black one. Play On!

Location: Australia | I like blue on an Adamas (I have one) but on a wood top, it's not for me.
On a side point, I've wondered for a while why Ovation have pushed that Cherryburst on many models, it looks cheap to me and it doesn't sell (at least not in Australia).
As far as the OFC guitar, if it's an Adamas, I'd vote for Beigeburst or maybe Redburst (many Adamas owners have a Blue one). |
