Location: Boise, Idaho | I thought my first one, the 99, was great in the looks department, but subpar on sound. Saturday this guy came over to record stuff and he just went crazy over the 99. It's the only Optima preamp I have. Now he's watching one on ebay. I like them all. The only one I'm not crazy about is the one with the odd headstock, 88? |

Normal headstock. I must say this is my first shallow bowl however and it has left me pretty unimpressed. That said, it looks great and will have a fantastic action I think. Sound is ok, just ...I don't know...weak? It does have "unusual" fret markers and a 16 fret neck (something I have never heard of before). |

Location: Boise, Idaho | I meant 89, with the weird headstock. I also think the shallow bowls are weak. They just don't have that boomey bass that I like. I imagine that a bass player wouldn't appreciate them, but others really do. I've had 2 SSB's and they didn't boom much, but when I had the 83 I picked it up as much as anything because it was such a great player and the top just seemed to sing. Some things are better with age. My daughter's boyfriend has the Custom Balladeer currently. He liked how it played and felt over all the others except the OFC and I wasn't going to let him borrow the OFC.
I didn't like the 06 when I first played it, but the Koa and bowl grew on me. They all seem to have their benefits. |

Location: SoCal | 88 and 89 were both strange with long necks to the bodies and super shallow bowls. 90 had the same long neck but in a much better looking deep bowl package.
The difference between 87 and 88 seems to be "now that we've seen how beautiful a guitar we can build, let's see how ugly we can go...." |

It definitely has a mellow sound to it, but that just makes it different, not worse (or better). No two of my guitars sounds the same, and that's the way I like it.  |

Location: Michigan | My Adamas Milliniuem CB is the coolest looking guitar but I do not like the action on it at all.I dont even have an hour of playing time on it after having it for a few years and I would rather play a number of my different guitars than that one.

Location: Sydney, Australia | GWB: The Millenium is basically just a W597, the action is adjustable and you should be able to get a really slick low action by removing shims and maybe a bit of adjustment on the neck. My W597 had a beautiful action. |

Location: Michigan | Hey Richard I removed all of the shims from it and It just doesnt seem to be anywhere near one of my favorite players.I think alot of it is just what you are use to but I think someone on this site said that they have heard that before from a Millinieum owner.
The only thing different on the Milliniuem and the 597 is the neck fluff.GWB |
