Tomorrow night, 9PM Tuesday December 2nd at Whiskey Bill's in Bellevue.

I'll be playing "The Book" to celebrate this wondrous occasion. I'll also have the 1537-1 there in double drop D and the Custom Elite 12. The Snake will be backup.

Just a solo gig... I'm excited!

Great going, Damon. Relax and have fun. If you enjoy yourself, so will your listeners. This season is the most demanding on my schedule for the entire year: eight rehearsals and 14 performances over the next two weeks, most of it being stage work.

Damon, like ProfBB said, relax, have fun and enjoy the experience. Oh yea, and don't spend all your earnings on whiskey and beer at your performance and give it back to "Whiskey Bill". Break a leg !!

Wow thanks everyone. I wish you could all be there too (especially since I'm getting a % of the bar :D )

Flacky, here's what I put together so far, but I'll probably change it 3 or 4 times before the day is over. I still need to get some more diversity in there, but this is what I know best. I have some others, but if I'm going to stay relaxed and have fun, I'm going to stick with these.

(DD) is double drop D, (12) is 12 string, and (C2) is capoed at 2nd fret...

• Bartender - Dave Matthews (DD)
• Cinnamon Girl - Neil Young (DD)
• Don't Let It Bring You Down - Neil Young (DD)
• Crush - Dave Matthews (DD)
• Disease - Matchbox 20 (C2)
• Elderly Woman Behind The Counter In A Small Town - Pearl Jam
• Gravedigger - Dave Matthews
• I Am Mine - Pearl Jam
• Needle and the Damage Done - Neil Young
Break
• I Believe In Miracles - Pearl Jam
• Dancing Nancies - Dave Matthews
• I Am a Child - Neil Young (12)
• Typical Situation - Dave Matthews (12)
• Grace is Gone - Dave Matthews (12)
• Lightning Crashes - Live
• Wild World - Cat Stevens
• Down By The River - Neil Young (DD)
• Ohio - Neil Young (DD)
• Black Water - Doobie Brothers (DD)

And if my friend Todd wants to, I'll have him come up and do a keys solo on:
• From The Beginning - Greg Lake (12)

He'll be there, it's his watering hole, but it depends on how much "water" he's had.

G'day Damon - was it a blast?? How was it???

Your playlist has a lot of songs that still are my favourites so I would have paid money (or brought plenty of beer) to have heard them. :D

Well, I might live on the other side of the planet, but I was able to watch Damon's performance.

Pretty much the whole of his playlist is on his 'ning' page. And good stuff it is, too.

OK, now it's done flacky ;)

It went well minus a couple fuckups. I played through though and most didn't notice. Everyone seemed pleased. I guess I need to keep up the Cat Stevens stuff cuz everyone says I sound like him. People were very receptive, but at the peak of business it seemed the attention wasn't on me. It was on the booze and the company. It did seem that as the bar started getting quieter that all eyes were on me.

The guy that books the place has managed several bands, and he seemed ready to call on me again if there was a cancellation (which was how I squeezed in on this one). Right now "Acoustic Night" is booked thru January. So I guess I didn't mess up too awfully bad.

I didn't video tape, but I think someone else did. I'll see if I can't get some footage.

A big thanks to all of you here at the OFC. Your encouragement has played a large part in me being able to finally do this.

Well done Damon. I'm right now re-looking at some of your vids and I'm impressed by your vocals (and guitar playing, obviously) And the voice continues to improve. Everythings looking up for you mate. Hearty congratulations!

You've inspired me to aspire. By this time next year, I hope to have gotten over my openmicphobia.

Fantastic Damon - it's something that not everyone will be able to have the opportunity to do. Now you have broken in you'll get called back :)

If you ever make it downunder I'll arrange a couple of gigs for ya

Good. Remember, you're only "the artist" when people are buying tickets to see you. If you're playing a bar gig, your job is to keep people there and drinking. If they put down their drinks because you're wowing them with some virtuoso performance, OK you've kept them there. Now make the next song "Brown Eyed Girl" so they can order another round.

good goin', damon. when i became aware of the time at some point last evening the thought occurred to me that you were likely in the midst of your gig and i verbally, out loud, wished you great success. you didn't hear it cuz the barroom was a bit noisy. nevertheless, i'm happy it went well for you. and i know well what it feels like when your kneecaps are knocking each other, not necessarily in syncopation with your music.
