I am looking for a 6778LX or 1778LX. I just noticed on Ebay there are a few "FRG"s. "Factory Reconditioned Guitars" with 5 yr Ovation warranty. Since these are selling for about $200-300 less than GC, are they worth it? I usually don't buy Factory reconditioned products, but if they come with a decent warranty...

Any comments.

There has been quite a bit of discussion on FRG guitars, and you can find those threads with the search function.

A short answer to your question is that some are better than others, but all should come with a warranty if they are being sold as new by a dealer. If there are no glaring cosmetic blems and everything else is fine, an FRG can be a great deal.

But I very highly recommend comparing prices with Al Pepiak at Lost Art first. An FRG eBay deal may not be all it seems at first glance. For instance, I saw a flood of listings today for FRG Legends at a significantly higher price than new ones sell for via Musician's Friend.

OOOPS! Sorry for the newbie, didn't do a search before asking a dumb question blunder. I'll do a search.

I have an e-mail in to Al. He stated he cannot get a 1771LX, or a 6778LX. He is checking on a 1778LX for me.
