Being late at night and not having to work tomorrow, I've been surfing. Anybody else seen the Ovation thread in critics corner on the UMGF site? Not pretty. I own two Martins and three Ovations. They do play and sound different, but I love them for what they are. I wouldn't have them any other way. Ovations are great, Martins are great. No more no less.

I've got to say - I'm a very happy Martin owner AND a very happy Ovation owner. The biggest difference that I find is that on Martin boards they seem to really "hate" Ovations a lot more than we here at OFC ever do towards Martins. Maybe it has do with us being the underdogs, so to speak. Seems we tend to criticize the Martin buyers for wasting their money vs. what they could have got from Ovation, not necessarily that the Martin guitar is really bad. The Martin board just banishes you to hell for even thinking of playing tupperware. A (hypothetical) typical example:

OFC Post: "What a waste of money. Just think what $4000 could have gotten you at an Ovation dealer. The un-even sound and questionable playability doesn't justify the price. You're just paying for the name".

UMGF Post: "You are a f**king idiot. Real musicians don't play with plastic toys. Take your stupid tupperware piece of shit and go to hell. If you weren't such an a**hole you'd buy a real guitar."

Pretty much sum of the differences ???
