I was looking at a real nice Balladeer--model GCS771C, if I remember right. It had a satin finished cedar lid on it instead of the usual spruce top, and it also sported an abalone ring around the soundhole-not the leaf pattern "O" ring, but purfling, like a Martin D-42.To settle a dispute, does anyone know if this is a decal, or is it an inlay? Also I've been away from Ovations for a while--how do these 2 piece necks hold up compared to the 5 piece neck. If these are replay questions, please excuse-I'm new to the board....Thanks, Ron

Thank you cms-man. That is just what I wanted to know. The work is so clean and smooth that it looks too good to be an inlay, and if you done it, you done good.--Ron

CMS, Love what you all do!

Throw in a suggestion about alternatives to abalone and MOP - a little silver, turquoise, semi-precious what-evers and Mt. St.Helen's volcanic ash can be used on occasion!

Give everyone a hug fo me!
