Location: 6 String Ranch | Went and saw Dave Mason last night, he was opening for Cocker. I'd give them each a B+, they were better 30 years ago, but then again so was I. Mason still has got his voice but the guitar playing was a little like just going through the motions. His guitar guy played a legend on one tune and Ole Dave played an Avarez 12 in open E that sounded like spoo through a screen.
anyway....Dave is playing this guitar, definately had a different look to it, sounded OK, but I doubt that the world is waiting for this one either. I'd never heard of them, Any of you? |

Dave co-founded this guitar company with an industrial designer by the name of Ravi something-or-other who has created some very interesting (beauty is in the eye of the beholder) products in a wide ranging panorama of consumer goods. Naturally, they are based in Southern California.
Dave has been showcasing these guitars on his website for some time now, and has got a few other artist to use them ... Riki Lee Jones comes to mind as one. I've heard they're priced in the $5K range.
I'm sure they'll be at NAMM ... mebbe some of our roving reporters and booth-cutie gawkers can swing by to give us a first hand editorial on the product line. |

Location: Cherry Hill, NJ | Actually he's a great 12 string guy. I can't for the life of me, figure out why he left Steve Winwood's Traffic. I guess he wasn't felling alright. 40,000 headmen couldn't tell either. Saw him 5 years ago with Leon Russell. He still got it.

Location: 6 String Ranch | Spoo through a screen is not good since it will splatter everywhere, especially on your new rug and white tennis shoes. I'm not so sure that he left Traffic, it was kinda the other way around (but I don't know for sure) |
