Got word that one of my Kerrville friends isn't going to ba able to make it. He has tickets to the New Orlean's Jazz Festival and is driving the RV out there. Too bad as he own's BB Rovers in Austin (has an collector's O from the 80's!) and was gonna bring a keg of premium ale.....
Oh, well, Shiner will have to do.
If your interested in attending contact me - already heard from several OFCers...

Will there be a secure place we can leave gear on Friday night?
I plan on coming early on Friday and would rather not have to unload on location, then load back up for Friday night, then unload again on Saturday. |

We're staying (mostly) at my father in law's in Irving, and bringing the Fids. (feathered Kids for those who don't know bird-speak). The Baby may be weaned by them as she's really on one feeding a day now, and flying.... So, what's the schedule for Sat-Sun? |

Location: Fort Worth, Texas | Hey, that's great! Saturday we'll be having the "official" meeting of the OFC....
Basically to get a time when everyone from the OFC will be there and get some photos, play each other's instruments (Craig, Collectors and Mandolin!! :D ). etc.
I'll be checking with everyone to make sure the time is OK, right now it's 2:00-4:00. (I need to check to see what time Noel needs to leave...)
Then we'll have some schedulded performances in the Music Hall and then more informal picking and grinning.
Sunday is pretty much informal....
I'll e-mail everyone who so far has RSVP early next week with all the current info.
Thanks! |

Here's some precise directions to Old Magnolia Town.
From Palestine:
Take Highway 79 or Highway 84 (they merge together) south.
Old Magnolia Town is 3.6 miles from the Palestine city limits, just outside Tucker.
At the junction of 79 and FM 645 are flashing yellow lights, OMT is 1.6 miles from here.
You'll turn right into the property.
The mailbox is painted like a Texas Flag.
If you get to Long Lake, you went to far.
From Fort Worth and points west:
Take Highway 287 South from Fort Worth.
At Ennis take Interstate 45 south.
At Corsicana take 287 South, Palestine exit.
If you are heading straight to Old Magnolia Town you can take FM 645 through Tennessee Colony.
FM 645 ends at Highway 79, turn right.
Old Magnolia Town is 1.6 miles on the right.
Mailbox is painted like a Texas flag.
If you are heading to hotels, etc. in Palestine keep going on 287 and see directions from Palestine above.
From Dallas and points north:
Take Interstate 45 south to Corsicana.
If you are heading to hotels, etc. in Palestine keep going on 287 (instead of taking FM 645) and see directions from Palestine above.
From Austin and points south:
Take Interstate 35 to Round Rock.
Take Highway 79 north.
Old Magnolia town will be on the left a few miles outside Long Lake.
Mailbox is painted like a Texas flag.
If you get to Tucker you went to far.
If you are heading to hotels, etc. in Palestine keep going on 79 and see directions from Palestine above.
If you8 from points east of Palestine, just make it to Palestine and follow the directions from there!!
Thanks y'all... :) |

Head DUE SouthEast till you hit the NEXT biggest state.
Shouldn't be TOO bad on gas . . . from looking at the map, it all looks "downhill" . . . |

Location: Fort Worth, Texas | I guess I'll declare the weekend a success. I'm pretty worn out after driving back home this afternoon (in time to get to our 5 year old's class picnic!) Between the OFC folks that made it and our friends from the Kerrville Folk Festival we had a decent turn out. I think everybody enjoyed Old Magnolia Town, and the music was almost non-stop. Special thanks to Mike Stephens, our area Ovation rep, he brought several guitars for us to try out. I'll need to get my old fashioned film developed to get my pics posted. Others should have some up soon (Craig?)...
Thanks to those from the OFC that made it:
George Dubick, Denton, TX.
Craig Martin, Converse, TX.
Tom Tennant, Keller, TX.
Fred Williams, South Orange County, CA.
and me Paul Wagner, Fort Worth, TX.

Location: Fort Worth, TX | We had a great time and we are definitely looking forward to next year! Michele is available for your own local events. Please see me for availability, price and details!..... Did I say that out loud?
Things to note;
Georges collector is a 1987
My 1687 is an 81
The Elite T has a Korina neck and an OPP p/u
Those "d" tuning lessons came straight from Matt
That is not Michele's only Milineum.
George did not bring his best!
and Fred stole that guitar!
Thanks for a great time see you next year. |

Recommend that OFC'ers extend out to their local reps for get-togethers...good experience. |

I assume this kind of thing doesn't go on in Converse?
"Mayoral candidate in San Antonio, Texas, Julian Castro,
has been using his twin brother as a secret stand-in
on the campaign trial. They've now agreed to wear t
shirts saying "I am Julian", and "I am not Julian".
"My blisters from the weekend have finally turned into calluses. Came REAL close to bleeding!"
On what? |

My mom broke the mold after I was born, so no twin.
On my fingers! Guess I'd better edit that. |

| I'd rather be voting in Converse than here next week.
My wife and daughter claim to have heard of Converse because some famous (?) shoes are made there. Is this true or they just humouring me again? |

OK kids... here's a test. Mike Stevens said a free t-shirt to the FIRST person who emails me with the correct answer to the question. My email address is listed with each post. You can only have one guess, and Al or anyone who attended the jam can't play. What guitar is Alison playing?
Did anyone end up guessing? |
