Did ovation ever make bailalaikas?

Now that would be somethin'.... entering the slavic market.

Paul McCartney was a HUGE bailalaika fan 'round '68 or so.

as were Messrs. Anderson and Barre on the early Jethro Tull albums . . . .

Being of some Russian descent myself, I've often pondered a balalaika. My neighbor is a Ukrainian ex-pat and travels "home" quite often . . . she and I may need to have a bit of discussion . . .

I'm betting a ovation bailalaika would really put out some sound... but that triangular shape might be a challenge!

In San Franscisco there's a bailalaika ensemble/troupe that has members that use all sizes from sopranino down to bass, and a bass bailalaika is HUMONGOUS!
