Location: NC | Going with a new lighter string for my Elite LX 6778...........it has the EXP16's on it and I am going to try the EXP26's which are custom light.
Anyone else play this string and can compare it to the 16's? Is there a real difference or very negligible?

Location: Canton (Detroit), MI | I use both, the .011s on my old 1617 and the .012s on my newer guitars. The .011s are a bit easier on your fingers if that is a concern. But with a properly set-up guitar it really doesn't make that much difference. I only use the .011s on the old guitar to put a bit less strain on the top.
I also do replace the .012s and .016s on a "medium" D'Addario 12-string set with .011s and .015s. There it does make a bit more difference when you have all the strings to push down.

Location: England | Hi,
I just had my 6778LX, removed a shim and put on elixir extra lights (47-10's)
The action is fantastic (plays like an electric)
but compared to the standard strings there is a loss of tone.
Think these are a bit too light !!! |

Location: NW NJ | I've been using the Markley Alchemy Gold Phos 11's-52's and before that, Martin SP Phos Bronze 11's-52's now for a couple of years. When I switched from 12's, I didn't notice much of a difference tone wise, but my ear may not be as sensitive as it could be. I play plugged in at church about 85% of the time, so most of my tone comes from the pickup, and the 11's just play easier for me. |
