"better", it's because you're getting older. If she's looking "older", it's because ... well ... she is. Dave |

The nose and cheeks are differentm bigger, not in a bad way, just different. There are more pictures inside and it's not a weight thing (looks like Ann lost some as well). |

I just noticed that they listed a review of the Eastman "John Pisano" model . . .
There's this little "By Appointment Only" shop in my town that sells nothing but Jazzboxes (and mandos) and they have a lot of Eastman's on display.
Anybody know anything about them? . . . |

I saw Eastman instruments for the first time at the Shanghai show back in October. I could be wrong here but I think the name "Eastman" is a badge used by the USA marketing/design company, who have the instruments made in a very old Chinese Violin factory. They really know what they are doing, the materials & workmanship are stellar, the tops & backs are carved by hand, not pressed or CNC'd. They make mostly acoustic archtops & electric archtops with floating pickups, very much traditional jazz boxes. They also make killer F-style mandolins. None of them are cheap. Just goes to show what the Chinese can produce when price-point isn't a factor. |

That's pretty much how she looked last summer in Bend at the concert. |

But only with my wife's approval, of course. |

There's an article on the chinese made guitars in March's guitar player. All hand made, and it explains why they look the way they do.
Eastman began constructing archtop guitars in late 2001, building on Bob Benedetto’s classic designs—which isn’t surprising given that the Chinese luthiers’ introduction to guitar crafting was via Benedetto’s instructional manual and video.

They seem to coming to USA in a big way with value for money. Hard not to resist. |

You also have to take into consideration that there was close to a 20-year span between those pictures . . .
The Eastman guitar in the pic that I posted goes for $1,700.
Not bad. |

Location: Canton (Detroit), MI | One of Nancy's sons ran across the stage to deliver Ann's flute to her between songs during their concert near Detroit last summer. 5-6 years old looked about right for him.
Nancy had red streaking in her hair last summer, also. Guess she got tired of it.
